Thanks Rui - things took a turn for the worse. M seems finished unless there is a major change of direction. So sad about this as the community was fantastic, but people will not stick around to be paid cents.
I generally listen to one podcast once in a blue moon, so this sudden expectation for me to care about a bunch of people I vaguely know or have never heard of going live is a bit overwhelming. I also have residual PTS zoom fatigue from Covid lol, it's just too yappy. I def couldn't deal with the one you describe, bluergh! Red bull amazing no thanks!
Well written John! As a fellow newbie on Substack, it's good to be aboard. But I'm not really a NIM I guess because I never got much on Medium either(although it did dramatically go down from a few dollars to a few cents) except for good chat from fellow readers. But because of the way Medium has treated its legends, it's now a very limited field.
So I haven't turned my back on Medium, but I'll very much be embracing this platform. If nothing else, I'm here for the banter. (just reminded me of that Scottish comedy "Chewin' the Fat" ππββ½ ππ¦ π₯°
Thanks Brett and good to catch up with you here as well. It is so sad, what has happened to Medium, but I guess all good things come to an end. I haven't completely given up on it, but hang in there waiting for a change in direction - they seem to happen every year or so! And yes - there is some good banter in the Notes. The whole format here has quite a different feel, and the Lives add another dimension. Not 100% sure if Substack is for me as video is definitely not my thing, but the platform as a whole has more life to it than Medium at the moment. π
I think there are many different people out there that we will gravitate towards, and others that repel us from them as well. There are quite a few good Subtacks. Rachel Ooi from Conscious Living is one I appreciate.
Thanks Chrisitie-Leigh. Joking aside, there are some lovely people here, including the overcaffeinated lady, and thank you for the recommendation. π
We're all NIMs... brilliant! π

Haha you are welcome. I mostly read on substack, it's better that way
